LOGAN, Utah – The Mountain West Conference announced that Utah State linebacker David Woodward and wide receiver/return specialist Savon Scarver have been named conference players of the week.
It’s the first time in both Woodward’s and Scarver’s careers that they have earned this honor.
Woodward was named Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Aggies defense hold Colorado State’s offense under 300 yards of total offense in their 34-24 win. He racked up a game-high 14 tackles, along with two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, which he returned it for an eight-yard touchdown. It’s Woodward’s third double-digit tackle performance this season and the 12th of his career.
