David Woodward Rips Football Away From Rams RB, Returns It For TD

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State linebacker David Woodward ripped the ball from the hands of Colorado State running back Marvin Kensey Jr. and returned the fumble recovery for a touchdown.
Woodward pulled the ball away from Kinsey Jr. after the Rams’ running back ran forward for four yards. Woodward took the football eight yards into the endzone to extend the Aggies’ lead.
The linebacker’s TD put USU up for good 34-24 with 9:32 left in the fourth quarter of the game on Saturday, September 28.

The Rams fumbled the football on three of four second-half possessions. Woodward’s forced fumble was the Rams’ third turnover of the game.
It was the fifth forced fumble of Woodward’s career. It was also his fourth fumble recovery.
Woodward has three forced fumbles in 2019. He was responsible for two in the Aggies’ season opener vs. Wake Forest.
The Aggies finished the game with the 10 point victory and moved to 3-1 on the season.
