Real Salt Lake Defends On The Road, Holds On For One Point

FOXBORO, Mass. – Real Salt Lake’s defense was the difference against the New England Revolution and provided RSL a point in the road match.
RSL’s defense held the Revolution scoreless in regulation. New England outshot Real Salt Lake on the night but couldn’t put anything in the back of the net.
Real Salt Lake’s defense earned the team a point in the standings and remained in playoff contention with the outcome.

The Revolution had 23 shots on the night compared to nine for Real. New England controlled the ball 60% of the match as well.
RSL’s defense offset the Revolution’s offense and allowed only three shots on goal.
The offense was limited for Real Salt Lake on Saturday night. RSL only had 3 shots on goal as well. Their first and only corner kick of the match came in the 77th minute of play.
After whistle RSL found themselves with 46 points on the season and in 4th place in the Western Conference.
The next match for the Claret and Cobalt is the LA Galaxy on September 25 at 7:30 p.m.
