Olympus’ Defense Holds Highland To One Score Friday Night

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Olympus’ defense showed out on Friday night and held Highland to one score. The Titans’ defense forced two turnovers to get a 24-6 victory.
Olympus’ Chase Hopkins ran for three touchdowns in the win.
Region 5
Bonneville 14 at Bountiful 29
The Bountiful Braves scored in each quarter to lead them to a 29-14 win over Bonneville. The Braves’ Jared McCann ran for three touchdowns in the win. Bonneville had passing touchdowns from Kamen Best and Brock Samuels in the loss.
Box Elder 15 at Viewmont 20
A 15-point third quarter from Viewmont propelled them to a five-point win over Box Elder on Friday night. Viewmont quarterback Will Schultz threw three touchdowns to Kaden Smith in the win. Box Elder QB Parker Buchanan threw for two scores in the loss.
Farmington 41 at Woods Cross 21
Farmington scored in each quarter Friday night including 21 points in the second quarter to beat Woods Cross 41-21. Farmington quarterback Wyatt Evertsen threw for three touchdowns in the victory. He also ran for two more scores. Woods Cross’ Even Blanchard and Luke Hyde each had a rushing TD in the loss.

Region 6
Brighton 56 at Cottonwood 0
Brighton scored 49 of its 56 points in the first half to shutout Cottonwood on Friday night. Brighton QB Gabe Curtis threw for two touchdowns in the blowout. The Bengals rushing attack featured TD runs from Curtis and Matthew Cirillo. Cirillo had a touchdown reception in addition to his two scores on the ground.
Murray 24 at Skyline 17
The Murray Spartans held off a fourth-quarter comeback and defeated Skyline 24-17 on Friday night. Skyline scored 10 points in the final quarter but the 24 point lead the Spartans built in the first half was too much to overcome. Murray had rushing touchdowns from Autjoe Soe, Deshaud Seymour, and Raymond Okialda in the win.
Region 7
Mountain Ridge 13 at Alta 55
Alta scored 14 points or more in three quarters Friday night to beat Mountain Ridge 55-13. Alta had rushing touchdowns from three players in the victory. Gabe Barraza and Jahmaine Griego (Billingsley) each scored two rushing TDs while Daniel Thomason added another.
Provo 14 at Lehi 35
The Bulldogs left Lehi Friday night with a 35-14 loss to the Pioneers. Lehi QB Creyton Cooper threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more in the Pioneers win. Provo quarterback Luke Haslem threw for two touchdowns in the defeat.

Timpanogos 21 at Orem 55
The Orem Tigers rode a 42-0 halftime lead to the finish line and defeated Timpanogos 55-21 on Friday night. The Tigers were led by three touchdown throws from Kana’ipono Kahala-Giron. Timpanogos’ Rory Ziegra had three rushing scores in the loss.

Spanish Fork 7 at Salem Hills 52
Salem Hills scored in double digits in every quarter Friday night to take the win against Spanish Fork 52-7. Salem Hills quarterback Jarret Elmer threw for three touchdowns and ran for one more in the victory. The Dons only touchdown came on a touchdown pass from Greg Olson to Corbin Harrison.
Springville 49 at Payson 0
The Springville Red Devils shutout Payson on Friday night to take home the 49-0 road victory. Springville QB Payton Murphy threw for five touchdowns in the blowout. The Red Devils also had rushing touchdowns from Makoa Webb and Tyler Kelly in the win.
Wasatch 24 at Maple Mountain 21
Wasatch held off a fourth-quarter comeback to defeat Maple Mountain 24-21 on Friday night. Wasatch scored in all four quarters of the game. Wasatch had rushing touchdowns from Zak Thacker and Parker Quinton in the win.

Copper Hills 0 at East 41
The East Tigers shutout Copper Hills 41-0 on Friday night. The Tigers scored six rushing touchdowns in the blowout victory. Amini Amone and Izaak Zimmerman both scored two touchdowns while Iuliano Sula added another for Tigers.
