SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Defensive lineman Bradlee Anae has made clear his intention to become the University of Utah’s all-time leader in career sacks, according to head coach Kyle Whittingham. If he does, Anae would be dubbed by the program as the “Mayor of Sack Lake City.”
Anae is climbing the all-time list for most sacks in a red and white uniform. He has 20.0 sacks thus far in his college career which is 8th most in Utah history.
He has posted 3.o sacks so far in 2019. All three of his sacks came in Utah’s second game of the season against Northern Illinois.
Bradlee Anae (3 sacks today) now has 20.0 sacks for his career, tied for 8th all-time by a Ute with Steve Clark (1978-81) and Trevor Reilly (09-13)!
His 3.0 sacks today are most in a game by a Ute since 11/10/16 at ASU when Hunter Dimick had 5.0 and Pita Taumoepenu had 3.0.

During his weekly press conference Utah head coach, Kyle Whittingham mentioned Anae as a real threat in overtaking Dimick as the Utes leader.
“It is going to take some work, but Bradlee has a chance to threaten that all-time sack record here at Utah,” said Whittingham. “He is definitely within reach, but he will have to have a pretty good year, which we hope he does. He is off to a pretty good start.”

Mayor of Sack Lake City
The title Mayor of Sack Lake City is given to the Utes’ all-time leader in sacks. The title is currently held by former Ute lineman, Hunter Dimick. Dimick played for the Utes from 2013-16 and recorded 29.5 sacks during his career.

Anae is 9.5 sacks short of tying Dimick’s record. With 10.0 sacks he’ll surpass Dimick and earn the title of Mayor of Sack Lake City.

Anae has nine games remaining in the regular-season games as well as potential postseason run to make a mayoral run. The Utes have the following teams left on their schedule and Anae will have games where he can cause havoc.
Remaining Schedule for Utah Football (number of sacks allowed in 2019, Pac-12 rank)
