SANDY, Utah – Damir Kreilach’s impressive header in the 75th minute gave Real Salt Lake a 1-0 lead over the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday night.

Kreilach’s header broke a tie game after the defense of both squads had ruled much of the game up to that point.

Brooks Lennon’s cross to Kreilach put RSL up 1-0 against the Quakes in the second half.

The goal was Kreilach’s fifth this season.

Real Salt Lake was barely outshooting San Jose 9-8 before Kreliach buried the ball in the back of the net.

The fourth-placed Quakes sit one point ahead of RSL in the Western Conference standings 44-43.

The game is available on the KSL TV app.
