NEW ORLEANS, La. – There are football players and then there is Taysom Hill.
The former BYU star caught, yes caught, a touchdown pass from New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees in the third quarter of the Saints season opener against the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.

This catch was Taysom’s first stats of the night. Whenever the Saints need a big play, Taysom Hill is their guy to make something happen.

Hill’s touchdown catch is his second receiving touchdown in his three-year NFL career. The former BYU quarterback has a total of four touchdowns in his time with the Saints. The other two were rushing touchdowns.
The Checkdown, which is an NFL owned social media account, sent out a tweet saying they are now a Taysom Hill Fan account. The Checkdown recently dubbed Taysom as the greatest backup QB in the history of the NFL.

During the preseason, Hill only played quarterback. In four games, Hill threw for 443 passing yards and had 148 yards rushing.
Last season, Hill played in only 30% of the Saints’ offensive snaps. He’s off to a great start to potentially increase that number this season.
