SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU Cougar Kyle Van Noy missed the Patriots season opener last night for good reason. He and his wife Marissa welcomed a baby boy.
Early Monday morning Van Noy tweeted that he and his wife “welcomed a young king into the world” – Trae Ledgend Van Noy.
Van Noy assured his followers that his wife, former Miss Utah, is “doing great.”

Van Noy used hashtags like #imadad and #wifeylooksbeautiful to express his excitement.
The couple hasn’t shared a photo of the baby yet.
While he wasn’t on the field for the Patriots dominant win over the Steelers last night, he supported the team via Twitter.
“How about that defense?!?!?!? Them boys hungraaaaayyyyyy!! My guys!!!!!,” Van Noy tweeted.

Former Ute Eric Weddle, who suffered a head injury during his game with the Rams, congratulated Van Noy on Twitter.

Even without the help of Van Noy on defense, the Patriots held the Steelers to three points while Tom Brady and the offense put up 33 points.
The Patriots next game is against the Dolphins, no word if Van Noy will be back with his team for that game.
