Pleasant Grove Offense Handles Viewmont

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Pleasant Grove’s Porter Connors accounted for three of the Vikings five touchdowns in their 35-14 win over Viewmont.

Connors had two rushing and one receiving touchdowns with quarterback Caleb Campbell throwing three touchdown passes in the win.

For Viewmont, Sam Trusty started the game with a 50-yard rushing touchdowns and Will Schultz found Micah Johnson for an 84-yard score.

Here is the rest of the games from the 5A classification during the fourth week of the high school football season:

Region 6

Highland 41 at Hillcrest 17

Hillcrest jumped out to a 14-7 lead in the first quarter before Highland took over. Paul Clark rushed for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Colton White, Ben Boren, Hunter Lambert and Nephi Hosea all found the end zone once on the ground for Highland. Ashton Smart and Smith Cutler each scored a rushing touchdown for Hillcrest in the loss.

Murray 7 at Olympus 42

Scotty Edwards had a rushing and receiving touchdown in the big region win for the Titans. Frankie Goodson threw one touchdown pass, while Chase Hopkins ran in two scores and Christian Peterson added one.

Skyline 62 at Cottonwood 0

The Eagles scored 47 of their 62 points in the first half. They added 15 points in the third quarter to get the dominating win in region play on the road against Cottonwood.

Region 7

Mountain Ridge 3 at Lehi 47

The Pioneers scored 27 points in the first quarter and 20 points in the second to get the win. Creyton Cooper threw four touchdown passes, all to different receivers. McKay Wall had a punt return for a touchdown and a catch in the end zone, along with two rushing scores from Carsen Manookin.

Region 8

Payson 7 at Salem Hills 58

Salem Hills was consistently scoring throughout with 14 points in the first, third and fourth quarters and dropped 16 in the second quarter to get the dominating region win over Payson at home.

Spanish Fork 13 at Provo 38

Provo scored 17 straight points before Spanish Fork scored their first touchdown. Luke Haslem accounted for three touchdowns, two passing and one rushing for Provo.

Springville 35 at Maple Mountain 22

Payton Murphy threw three touchdown passes to Austin Mortensen and a throw to Bradey Mortensen in the end zone, while running one in. He accounted for all five Springville touchdowns, four passing and one rushing. Grady Nelson threw three touchdown passes in the loss for Maple Mountain.

Non-Region

Brighton 34 at Bountiful 15

Brighton pulled away from Bountiful with 18 points in the second quarter. Canyon Sargent, Gabe Curtis and Matthew Cirillo all found the end zone on the ground for the Bengals.

Green Canyon 27 at Box Elder 9

Box Elder scored all nine of their points in the first quarter and held Green Canyon scoreless before Green Canyon scored 27 unanswered points. Jacob Lundin had three passing and one rushing touchdown, finding Tanner Watson twice and Jacob Regen once in the win.

Timpanogos 2 at Woods Cross 43

Carter Weierman had four passing touchdowns, finding Luke Hyde twice and Braden Freestone and Roman Sanone once in the win. Hyde also ran in a rushing touchdown.
