Ingles Near Triple Double Leads Australia To Win Over Senegal

SHANGHAI, China – Utah Jazz forward and Australian National Team player Joe Ingles nearly had a triple double as the Boomers beat Senegal 81-68 in group play at the FIBA World Cup of basketball.
Ingles finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists, while shooting 6-of-8 from the field, 2-for-2 from two-point range and 4-of-6 from the three-point line in 31 minutes.
Against Canada in their first game of the World Cup, Ingles had 13 points and 9 assists.

Patty Mills had 22 points to lead Australia and Aron Baynes added 12 points. Former Ute Andrew Bogut recorded 6 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 18 minutes. They shot 54 percent from the field as a team and 39 percent from downtown.
Senegal was led by Xane Dalmeida with 14 points and 5 rebounds, with Youssoupha Ndoye adding 13 points and 10 rebounds.
The Boomers will have a tough test in their group finale when they take on Lithuania, who is also 2-0 but has scored 193 points in two games and only allowed 116 points. Australia has scored 189 points and allowed 160 points.
The game will be on Thursday at 5:30 a.m. on ESPN+.
