WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – Utah State star quarterback Jordan Love threw a nice pass that was caught by former Utah wide receiver Siaosi Mariner for a 17-yard touchdown.
Mariner made his Utah State debut after arriving on campus as a graduate transfer.
The touchdown came at a critical time late in the second quarter to give the Aggies a 21-17 lead over Wake Forest.
When the catch was made, the official ruled Mariner out of bounds, but after looking at the instant replay, they overturned the call because the Aggie had a toe touch the end zone before he went out of bounds.
Can’t beat that.

At halftime, Mariner had six catches for 75 yards and the touchdown grab from Love.
Love threw for 227 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception in the opening half, while completing 19 of his 24 pass attempts.
Both teams turned the ball over on downs in the first half, while each team has committed one turnover.
Utah State is looking to build off of a successful 11-2 season in 2018 that led to the team breaking school records on offense.
It was the debut (again) for head coach Gary Andersen, who is back with the program for his second stint. Wake Forest is from the ACC and went 7-6 last year.
