BYU Women’s Soccer Team Visited Nick Saban’s Alabama Office

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The BYU Women’s Soccer team opens up their 2019 season tonight in Tuscaloosa against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Whenever anyone thinks of Alabama athletics, it starts and ends with the Crimson Tide football program.

Since the BYU soccer team is in T-Town, they got a taste of Alabama football first-hand down in SEC country.

BYU head coach Jen Rockwood’s squad toured the Alabama football complex on Thursday and also made a stop at head football coach Nick Saban’s office.

Along with visiting Saban’s office, the Cougars soccer team that is a preseason favorite to win the West Coast Conference took in the other state-of-the-art facilities Alabama had to offer.

Tonight’s game between BYU and Alabama on the pitch kicks off at 6 p.m. (MDT) and can be seen online on SEC Network-plus.

Heading into the season, the Cougars received 45 votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, placing them just outside the top 25. Being left out of the preseason top 25 left some “rolling their eyes” at BYU not being among the top teams in the country.

In the Top Drawer Soccer’s preseason poll, Jen Rockwood’s BYU team was ranked No. 22 nationally.
