But Corner Canyon quarterback Cole Hagen tied the game with a 42-yard touchdown run.
Less than two minutes later, running back Austin Bell gave the Chargers the lead with a seven-yard score.
Orem’s Cayden Viertell caught a 38-yard pass from quarterback Micah Fe’a for a touchdown to tie the game once again.
Bell’s 21-yard run into the end zone gave the Chargers a 21-14 lead at the half.

The defense for both teams took over in the second half with the first score coming with 8:29 left in the game as Orem’s special teams snapped the ball over the punter’s head and sailed into the back of the end zone.
Bell put the nail in the coffin with his third touchdown run, this time from 15-yards away.
Orem was without their star defensive player Noah Sewell, who is out with a foot injury. He is a five-star recruit with offers from every major college football program.
The Tigers also played their first game without quarterback Cooper Legas and wide receiver Puka Nacua, who were the stars last season. They are now playing for Utah State and Washington respectively.
Corner Canyon starts the season with a 1-0 record and will face Herriman on the road next week. While Orem drops to 0-1 and will face national powerhouse Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas next week.
