Former RSL midfielder and current El Paso Locomotive player Sebastian Velasquez is reaching out to get donations to go towards the families involved in the tragic shooting. He has helped raise nearly $24,000 in just three days.
Smith was born in Portland, Oregon but attended school at the University of Texas and played for the Dallas Texans in her youth career. She has been with the Royals since they began in Utah in 2018.
The shooting took place on August, 3 at a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas. A lone gunman killed 22 people and injured 24 others. A 21-year-old male was arrested after the shooting began and charged with capital murder.
