Baird Sneaks Second Goal Past SKC Keeper

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – For the second time in the match, Real Salt Lake forward Corey Baird scores, this time to give RSL a 2-1 lead on the road against Sporting Kansas City.
His “brace” goal came in the 70th minute when forward Jefferson Savarino lobbed the ball ahead to Baird, who chested down the ball on the left side of the goal and blasted it with his left foot, going far post past the keeper.
Baird collected his third goal of the season and the second of the game.

The first goal from Baird came in the 38th minute when Albert Rusnak attempted a free kick about 20 yards from the goal. The ball hit the crossbar and bounced to Baird, who put the ball away past the Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper.
RSL scored two unanswered goals after Sporting Kansas City took the lead in the 31st minute when Johnny Russell scored.
They are currently in sixth place in the Western Conference standings, three points behind the Los Angeles Galaxy for fifth place and only one point ahead of FC Dallas.
