Utes Ranked No. 15 In Preseason Coaches Poll

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The preseason USA Today Coaches Poll was released and the University of Utah came in at No. 15 in the poll voted on by the coaches in college football.
Utah was the third highest ranked Pac-12 team in the poll and the highest in the Pac-12 South Division.
Washington received the top spot in the conference at No. 12 with Oregon right behind them at No. 13.

Washington State came in at No. 21, while Stanford rounded out the five Pac-12 teams in the poll at No. 23.
USC received 47 votes, Utah State picked up 32 votes, UCLA had 2 votes along with Arizona State
BYU did not receive any votes from the coaches poll.
USA Today listed the voters for the poll. They include 65 head coaches at Bowl Subdivision schools and are all members of the American Football Coaches Association. The notable coaches who get votes include USC’s Clay Helton, Mike Leach from Washington State, Washington’s Chris Petersen, Jonathan Smith from Oregon State, Arizona’s Kevin Sumlin, former Utah State and current Texas Tech head coach Matt Wells and Kyle Whittingham from Utah.
