SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The night couldn’t have been better for former Jazzman Joe Johnson as he led the Triplets to a 51-34 win over the Ball Hogs in the Big3 basketball league.

The evening started with a standing ovation at Vivint Smart Home Arena when Johnson was introduced for the Triplets.

The Big3 is a professional 3-on-3 basketball league featuring former NBA and international players.

After trailing 3-2, Johnson hit a four point shot to get the night going and he finished with 11 points in the first half.

The Triplets had a 26-14 lead at the half before Johnson scored 10 straight points to begin the second half.

He finished with 21 points, 4 steals, 3 three-pointers and 1 four-pointer.

His teammate and co-captain Al Jefferson, who also played for the Utah Jazz during his NBA career, had 12 points and 7 rebounds.

After the game, both players reflected on their time in Salt Lake City and playing for the Utah Jazz.

In the Big3, Johnson is the early MVP favorite, averaging 22 points per game. He is in his first season in the league with the Big3 in the middle of their third season.

The Triplets improved their record to 5-1, while the Ball Hogs dropped to 0-6. Former Jazzman DeShawn Stevenson finished with 12 points for the Ball Hogs.
