HENDERSON, Nev. – The Utah State Aggies have started the campaign for quarterback Jordan Love to be a Heisman Trophy candidate.
The prestigious award is given to the best college football player in the country.
Utah State released a campaign video along with heart candies with the hashtag #10VEforHeisman.

No Pressure Added
With all of the hype surrounding the junior quarterback, Love doesn’t feel any added pressure.
“It doesn’t put any added pressure,” Love said at Mountain West Conference Media Day. “I come out the same way. That stuff is going to be there, but you just have to put it to the side and stick with your main goals.”

Although it doesn’t add any pressure to him, he is glad that the Utah State football program is getting behind him with this campaign.
“It’s a cool deal to see that,” Love said. “You don’t see that everyday having your own Heisman campaign. I am glad they are pushing that and it’s a neat deal to be able to see.”
Coaching Change
After a season where Love set five single season school records in 2018, the departure of head coach Matt Wells and his staff as they took over the program at Texas Tech, Love said that it hurt to see Wells leave Logan.
“We had a good relationship because he recruited me,” Love added. “He is the one who got me there (to Utah State). We had a good little run and I have a lot of respect for him. It was definitely hard, but at the end of the day, it’s a business and this kind of stuff happens.”
Now Love has to transition to Gary Andersen as the head coach and Mike Sanford as the offensive coordinator, but he has adjusted very well to the new staff.
“We (coach Sanford) have had a lot of good talks,” Love said. “From the day he got there, he has taught me new stuff and everyday I am just learning and trying to be the best player that I can be. I am excited to play for him and see if he can help take me to the next level and this team.”
