BYU’s James Empey Named To Rimington Award Watch List

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 2019 Rimington Award Watch List included Sophmore center for BYU James Empey.
Empey is one of 80 Division 1 centers included on the list. No other players from schools in Utah were selected to the watch list.
He was a redshirt freshman but started 13 of BYU’s 13 games last season. Empey was named the number one freshman center by Pro Football Focus last year.

The 6’4″, 300-pound Cougar is a native of American Fork Utah.
James Empey has been named to the watch list for the 2019 Rimington Trophy.

The Rimington Award is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Last year’s recipient was Garrett Bradbury of North Carolina State University.
