Young Women Fill Airport To Greet USWNT Member, Royals Star
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Fans, mostly inspired young women, filled the Salt Lake airport to welcome Kelley O’Hara back from her World Cup victory with the U.S. Women’s National team Tuesday evening.
O’Hara and her teammate Christen Press have been with the U.S. Women’s National Team at the FIFA Women’s World Cup where they capitalized on the opportunity and connected for a goal during the semifinals before going on to claim the title of world champions.
Upon the teams return to the United States, a ticker-tape parade was held for the USWNT. During the parade, O’Hara shared a moment with a fan that later went viral.
O’Hara, who appeared shocked and thrilled to see so many fans waiting at the airport, spent time signing autographs and taking photos with everyone.
She spent plenty of time talking with young female soccer fans about the experience of the World Cup and thanking them for support.
O’Hara also reminded them to come watch the Royals take on Portland Thorns FC this Friday.
