SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Donovan Mitchell is a budding superstar for the Utah Jazz on the court, but off the court he’s always been a star to the people here in the state of Utah. In large part because he’s always supporting the local colleges here in the state whenever he can.
Mitchell is currently in China for a shoe tour of his first-ever signature sneaker with Adidas called D.O.N. Issue #1. While in China, Mitchell posted an update on his Instagram Stories of him sporting some BYU socks.

This isn’t the first time Mitchell has supported BYU with his sock game. Back on March 4th, in the post game locker room after the Jazz played the New Orleans Pelicans, Mitchell was wearing the same BYU socks he wore yesterday in China. He also wore BYU gear in his rookie campaign after the Jazz defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in Salt Lake City.
Earlier this year, Mitchell showed his support to the Cougars by more than just a pair of socks, he gave a shout-out to BYU’s dancing sensation mascot, Cosmo.
Y’all stay killing the game! @BYUCougars and my guy Cosmo🔥🔥🔥 https://t.co/h86uPe2OHp

Back in December of 2017, Mitchell attended a BYU basketball game at the Marriott Center with former Jazzman Raul Neto to support a former prep school teammate, Elijah Bryant. Mitchell and Bryant were teammates at the Brewster Academy together. Bryant, who played his first professional basketball season in Israel last year, is currently with the Milwaukee Bucks Summer League team.
