SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Utah Jazz have agreed to a one-year deal with free agent point guard Emmanuel Mudiay.

This fills a void at the point guard position with only having two point guards on the roster in Mike Conley and Dante Exum.

Mudiay can also play the shooting guard position at times if needed.

He finished his fourth NBA season with the New York Knicks, where he played two seasons in the big apple.

Mudiay had the best season of his career during the 2018-19 campaign, where he averaged 14.8 points to go with his 3.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He shot 44 percent from the field and 33 percent from downtown.

Originally drafted as the 7th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets, Mudiay was traded to the Knicks after two and a half seasons in Denver.

During his career, he is posting 11.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game with 39 percent shooting from the field and 32 percent from the perimeter.

It’s been a busy off-season for the Jazz as the front office is making moves to take the team to the next level.

They acquired Mike Conley from the Memphis Grizzlies on June 19, in exchange for Jae Crowder, Kyle Korver, Grayson Allen, the 23rd pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and a future first round pick.

On Sunday, when teams were officially allowed to talk to free agents, according to reports, the Jazz have agreed to terms with Bojan Bogdanovic and Ed Davis. On Tuesday, they agreed to sign Jeff Green.

Deals cannot be completed and made official until Saturday when the new league year begins.
