SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Jazzman Joe Johnson continues to play like he can still compete in the NBA after a dominating performance to keep the Triplets undefeated in the Big3.

The Big3 is in their third season, founded by icon rapper Ice Cube, which features three-on-three basketball with players that had successful careers in the NBA or overseas.

They have 8 teams, which includes 3 Headed Monsters, Trilogy, Power, 3’s Company, Bivouac, Enemies, Aliens, Triplets, Killer 3s, Tri-State, Ghost Ballers and Ball Hogs.

Johnson had 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal and hit two 3-pointers and one 4-pointer in the Triplets 51-41 win over Trilogy.

The game does not have a time limit with the first team to score 25 points will send the game to halftime and the first team to score 50 points will win the game, but they have to win by two points.

Nine players play for the Big3 that have either played for the Utah Jazz at some point in their career, the Salt Lake City Stars and one player played one season at Weber State.

Here is how those players performed in the second week of the Big3 season:

Andre Owens, Aliens (0-2)

Owens dropped 8 points for the Aliens as they lost to the 3 Headed Monsters, 50-44. He added 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Owens played for the Jazz in the 2005-06 season. Rashard Lewis led the 3 Headed Monsters with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

The Aliens will face the Ball Hogs (0-2) in Birmingham, Alabama at 4 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Brandon Rush, Aliens (0-2)

Rush led the Aliens in scoring with 15 points and in rebounds with 6 and 3 three-pointers in their loss to the 3 Headed Monsters. He spent the 2013-14 season with the Jazz.

The Aliens will face the Ball Hogs (0-2) in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday at 4 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

DeShawn Stevenson, Ball Hogs (0-2)

Stevenson was the second leading scorer in the Ball Hogs 50-45 loss to Enemies. He scored 9 points, pulled down 4 rebounds and added 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. The Jazz drafted Stevenson with the 23rd overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. He played with the Jazz until 2004. Will McDonald led the Ball Hogs with 27 points and 11 rebounds.

The Ball Hogs will challenge Aliens (0-2) in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday at 4 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Jermaine Taylor, Ball Hogs (0-2)

Taylor did not play in the Ball Hogs’ 50-45 loss to Enemies as he is dealing with an injury. He played for the Salt Lake City Stars, the Utah Jazz’s G-League affiliate from 2016-18.

The Ball Hogs will challenge Aliens (0-2) in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday at 4 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Carlos Boozer, Ghost Ballers (2-0)

Boozer didn’t contribute much in the Ghost Ballers 51-46 win over Bivouac. He had 3 rebounds in the win. Jamario Moon scored 21 points and pulled down 9 rebounds and Ricky Davis chipped in 20 points. Will Bynum led Bivouac with 17 points. Boozer played for the Jazz from 2004-10.

The Ghost Ballers will take on Enemies (1-1) on Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama at 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Franklin Sessions, Killer 3’s (2-0)

Sessions had 5 points and 3 rebounds, while knocking down a three-pointer in the Killer 3’s 50-32 win over 3’s Company. Stephen Jackson led the team with 22 points, while C.J. Watson added 14. Andre Emmett and Drew Gooden led 3’s Company with 10 points apiece. Sessions played one season with Weber State in 2010 with Damian Lillard.

Killer 3’s will face Tri-State (0-2) on Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama at 3 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Carlos Arroyo, Trilogy (0-2)

Arroyo made his Big3 debut and scored 7 points and dished out 3 assists in Trilogy’s 51-41 loss to the Triplets. James White led the team with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Arroyo spent three years in Salt Lake City in a Jazz uniform.

Trilogy will face Power (2-0) in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday at 12 p.m. on CBS.

Al Jefferson, Triplets (2-0)

Jefferson recorded 14 points and 5 rebounds to help Joe Johnson and the Triplets beat Trilogy to remain undefeated. Jefferson played for the Jazz from 2010-13.

The Triplets will face Bivouac (1-1) in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday at 1 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
