SANDY, Utah – Utah Royals FC fell behind 2-0 to the Seattle Reign in the 35th minute of their match Friday night. Jess Whitlock, who scored earlier on a goal to give the visiting side the lead, found Ifeoma Onumonu all alone in the 18-yard box. Onumonu took Nicole Barnhart on 1-on-1, and beat her with a shot to Barnhardt’s left.

Whitlock netted the assist on the goal, giving her a mark in the book on both of the Reign’s first-half goals.
This marks only the third time this season Utah Royals FC has given up multiple goals in a single match. The first time was at home against the Houston Dash on May 11, a game Houston won 2-1. The second was a 2-0 defeat at the Washington Spirit on June 1.
