SANDY, Utah –Ā Utah Royals FC fell behind 1-0 in the 30th minute of their game with Seattle Reign FC, after Jess Whitlock finished a give-and-go from a teammate and found herself alone inside the box.

The goal started when the Royals turned the ball over in the midfield. The Reign gained possession and immediately turned to attack. Whitlock played a give-and-go with Bethany Balcer, and placed her shot on the far post, just outside the reach of Nicole Barnhart. The score marked the 3rd time Whitlock had found the back of the net in the last 3 weeks.
