BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – The Chicago Fire took a 1-0 lead on Real Salt Lake thanks to a free kick goal by Aleksandar Katai.
It was just the fifth minute of the game when Katai booted a low kick off a free attempt from just outside the box. Katai’s kick broke through the RSL wall and arrived at the right side of the net and was well out of the reach of RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando.
The legendary keeper dove the wrong way and paid the price as the Fire took an early lead on RSL.

Katai’s free kick attempt came on the heels of questionable foul call on RSL’s Everton Luiz.
The match was RSL’s first game in MLS action since June 1. The team has not won a match since May 24.
Striker Sam Johnson, who has been one of the team’s top scorers this season, was not selected to RSL’s Starting XI against Chicago.
The match between RSL and the Chicago Fire can be streamed live on KSLSports.com or on the KSL TV app.
