SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – BYU basketball head coach Mark Pope has been the Cougars lead man for two months now. The former Utah Valley head coach has had a seamless transition in joining the BYU basketball program. But there has been one surprise Pope wasn’t expecting.
Pope hopped on the Cougar Tracks Podcast here at Broadcast House in Salt Lake City to discuss that surprise during his first two months on the job.
Along with surprises, Pope and I also discussed his 2019-20 roster, the importance of the transfer portal at BYU, and his philosophies with non-conference scheduling.
We also discussed his newcomers that are joining the program this season in Jake Toolson, Jesse Wade, Trevin Knell, Wyatt Lowell, Richard Harward, and more.
Catch the full interview with Pope below at the 26:29 mark of the Cougar Tracks podcast. While you’re listening, make sure to subscribe to the Cougar Tracks podcast on iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Stitcher, and any other major podcasting platform.
