Sergio Llull missed his second free-throw with Madrid trailing by two points with 9 seconds left. Former Portland Trail Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez picked up the offensive rebound and dribbled to the left side on the perimeter when he handed off to Llull, who launched the ball across the court to Carroll. The former Aggie pump faked the defender, took a step to the left and drilled the three-pointer.
Barcelona missed the half-court shot, giving Madrid the win.
Carroll is in his eighth season with Madrid and averages 10.1 points per game this season. Through his career overseas, he has won two European Cups, 1 Intercontinental Cup, 4 ACB League titles, 5 Copa Del Ray and 4 Spanish Super Cups.
In four seasons with Utah State, Carroll posted 18.8 points per game, including a 22.4 points per game average during his senior season. Game 3 will be played on Wednesday at 1 p.m.
