Three Utes Named Preseason All-Americans By Phil Steele

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – College football analyst Phil Steele has released his yearly college football magazine and has pegged three Utes as preseason All-Americans, with 12 players named to his preseason All-Pac-12 teams.
Utah’s Bradlee Anae was named a third team All-American as a defensive end. Leki Fotu was selected as a second team All-American, cornerback Jaylon Johnson is a preseason third team All-American.
The three players were all named to the preseason All-Pac-12 first team.
On the second team in the conference, Steele listed linebacker Francis Bernard, safety Julian Blackmon, wide receiver Britain Covey, running back Zack Moss and defensive lineman John Penisini.
Penn State transfer linebacker Manny Bowen, tight end Cole Fotheringham, defensive back Javelin Guidry, and offensive lineman Darrin Paulo were selected to the third team.

Utah will face BYU at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Thursday, August 29 to open the college football season. They will look to build on winning the Pac-12 south division and try to win their first conference title since joining the Pac-12 in 2011.
Steele ranked Utah’s defensive line unit as one of the top-five groups in the country.
