Tony Finau Struggles In First Round Of U.S. Open

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – After the first round of the U.S. Open tournament at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Utah native Tony Finau finished at three-over par, 74 after 18 holes.
Finau started the tournament with a par on the first hole but bogeyed the second. He then picked up a par on the next five holes before notching another bogey.
The front nine ended with a par and a two-over score.
The 10th hole was a par before Finau picked up a bogey on No. 11. He went par on the next two holes, then his first two and only birdies of the round on No. 14 and 15. Finau finished the round with a bogey on No. 16 and 18 and a par on No. 17.
He is currently tied for 98th. Justin Rose is the leader in the clubhouse at six-under with Ricky Fowler, Xander Schauffele, Louis Oosthuizen and Aaron Wise all are tied for second place at five-under. Tiger Woods is tied for 28th at one-under.

Two other locals are competing in the tournament with Mike Weir being tied with Finau at three-over and Zac Blair is tied for last place at 12-over.
