BOSTON, Mass. – Former BYU basketball star and current Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge has returned back to work after suffering a mild heart attack a month ago on May 2nd in Milwaukee.
Ainge addressed the Boston media for the first time since his heart attack and was asked a variety of questions ranging from Kyrie Irving’s future with the Celtics to what his plans are in free agency this summer.
The BYU legend was also asked about the changes in his personal life since stepping away from the organization to take care of his health. Ainge who has been known to pull a prank or crack a joke replied, “I’m eating more plants. Not the ones from Bill Walton’s garden.”
Here’s video from NBC Sports Boston on the exchange.

Bill Walton was a former teammate of Ainge’s with the Celtics for the final two years of his hall of fame career from 1985-1987. Ainge, Walton, and the Celtics won the NBA championship in 1986.
Ainge has been the President of Basketball Operations for the Celtics since May of 2003 and now that he is back on the job, he prepares for one of the biggest off-seasons in his tenure at Boston.
