RSL Midfielder Albert Rusnak Called In To Slovakian National Team

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake midfielder Albert Rusnak will join the Slovakian National Team for two matches, beginning with a friendly on June 6 against Jordan in Slovakia before traveling to Azerbaijan for a UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifying match on June 11.
Slovakia is 1-1-0 through their first two matches of UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying and leads Group E. The two top teams in each group will qualify for the tournament, which will take place from June 12 to July 12 of 2020.
“Albert has been a key factor in our current run of form and this call-up is a testament to what he’s done for Real Salt Lake,” RSL General Manager Craig Waibel said. “This, again, is a great opportunity for him to continue to put his stamp on Slovakia on the international stage and we are happy for him to have earned that opportunity.”
Through 13 matches this season with Real Salt Lake, Rusnak has tallied five goals and two assists. He has 22 goals and 23 assists in 74 matches during his tenure with RSL.

At the national team level, Rusnak has 5 goals in 19 appearances, including one in a 2-0 win over Hungary in their first qualifying match of the UEFA Euro 2020.
RSL will face LAFC in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament on June 11 at Rio Tinto Stadium. They will return to MLS action on June 22 on the road against the Chicago Fire.
