SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has yet to play a midweek game in 2019. That will change this week as RSL heads to Montreal to face the Impact on Wednesday evening.
RSL has won three in a row as the team prepares for the Impact who currently sits in fourth place in the East. Montreal is winless through their last three MLS games, and are most recently coming off a 4-2 loss away from home against the best team in Major League Soccer, LAFC.

Montreal Key Players
Saphir Taider, one of Montreal’s international designated players, leads the team in goals with four, despite being a midfielder. The Frenchman is elusive and dangerous in the attacking third and have proven that he is capable of scoring goals for the Impact.
Second on the goal scoring list for the Impact is Argentine Ignacio Piatti, who is also a midfielder. Piatti has a wicked strike and has won the last four team most valuable player awards for Montreal. He is their best player.
Maximiliano Urruti is another Argentine that poses a threat to RSL in front of the goal. Urruti has bounced around MLS over the years, recently joining Montreal this year from FC Dallas. Prior to Dallas he spent time with the Portland Timbers and Toronto FC.
Ohio native Evan Bush has been Montreal’s starting goalkeeper since 2015. This year he has already produced 35 saves which includes a season high six stops last week against LAFC.

Real Salt Lake Club Update
RSL head coach Mike Petke told the media after last weekends win over Atlanta United that the lineup will shift with a mid week game in Montreal. The likes of Joao Plata, Everton Luiz and potentially Kyle Beckerman are expected to see more playing time this week as they have lately been coming off the bench and should offer some fresh legs for Petke.
Tony Beltran remains unavailable as he has been rehabbing a sore knee. Beltran is yet to join the main group at training this season.
Jefferson Savarino is up for MLS Goal of the Week after his stunning strike from 23 yards out in the dying seconds of the 2-1 win against Atlanta United. To vote click here.
