SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Remember former BYU center Eric Mika? Well he’s been absolutely crushing it on the other side of the world in Germany.
As a member of Medi Bayreuth in Germany’s Basketball Bundesliga, Mika recently made international highlight reels for a monstrous dunk he threw down in a game against Alba Berlin.
Coming off a pick and roll, Mika caught the pass and drove the line for a huge one-handed slam on a Berlin defender’s head. To make things worse for the Berlin side, Mika was also fouled on the play.
After an impressive high school career at Lone Peak where he and future BYU teammates led the Knights to a 5A state title and the 2013 MaxPreps.com national championship, Mika joined the Cougars for the 2013-14 season.
He was named to the West Coast Conference All-Freshman team before leaving for a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rome, Italy. He returned from his service to be named an All-WCC selection in 2017. He left the program following his sophomore year.
