SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Rudy Gobert was announced to the 2018-19 All NBA Third Team. It is the second time in his career that he has been awarded All NBA honors after the 7-1 Frenchman was selected to the All NBA Second Team following the 2016-17 season.
Gobert ended his 2018-19 season averaging career highs in points per game (15.9), rebounds (12.9) and assists (2.0). He also averaged 2.3 blocks per game which ranked third best in the NBA as well as leading the NBA with a .669 field goal percentage.
Gobert is alongside some of the NBA’s best as Russel Westbrook, Blake Griffin, Lebron James and Kemba Walker accompanied the big Frenchman.

This accolade comes a day after Gobert was named to the All NBA Defensive First Team.

Gobert will have to wait until June 24th to see if he regains his title of NBA Defensive Player Of The Year. The other finalists include Oklahoma City’s Paul George and Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Re: Rudy Gobert. The Utah center will become supermax eligible in the summer of 2020 (5 years/$247M) if he earns Defensive Player of the Year honors for a second consecutive season. Because Gobert did not earn All-NBA in 17-18 (like Giannis) he has not met the criteria.
