SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake’s Jefferson Savarino scored the team’s third goal of the game to put RSL up 3-0 over Toronto FC and celebrated by putting the ball under his jersey like a baby.
Not only did Savarino put the ball under his jersey but he also put his thumb in his mouth in celebration. According to soccer lore, a player doing so is an indication that their wife, girlfriend or partner is pregnant.
Savarino scored the baby-celebration goal by receiving a long cross and then executing a quick side-step on his defender before firing a shot on net.

It was Savarino’s second goal of the 2019 season.
Almost immediately after his goal, Toronto star Alejandro Pozuelo was ejected from the game with a red card after several reckless challenges throughout the match. His ejection came after a hard tackle on Bofo Saucedo, who scored RSL’s second goal of the game. Damir Kreilach scored the first goal for RSL.
