Former Cougar Yoeli Childs To Work Out For Sacramento Kings

SACRAMENTO Calif. – The Sacramento Kings have announced that former BYU center Yoeli Childs will take part in the team’s first pre-draft workout next week.
Childs announced his decision to forgo his senior year at BYU and enter the NBA Draft back in March. The door was left open for Childs to return to the Cougars if he didn’t like his pro chances, but he has since confirmed that he will not be returning to the program regardless of his NBA evaluation.
While he was not invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine this week in Chicago, Childs has already worked out for the Memphis Grizzlies.

He is not listed on any mock drafts from any major outlets or experts.
As a junior for the Cougars in 2018-19, Childs nearly averaged a double-double with 21.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. BYU finished with a record of 19-13 and did not participate in a postseason tournament. Following the conclusion of the season, longtime head coach Dave Rose retired and was replaced by Utah Valley head coach Mark Pope.
The NBA Draft will take place on June 20 in Chicago.
