Tony Finau Barely Makes Cut After Disappointing Second Round

BETHPAGE, N.Y. – Utah native Tony Finau is out of contention at the PGA Championship after a three-over score in round two of the PGA Championship at Bethpage State Park.
After two rounds, Finau is at three-over after hitting even par after the first round on Thursday.
He is currently tied for 48th on the leaderboard with the projected cut line at three-over par.

His second round score card consisted of a bogey on the first hole before evening the score with a birdie in the second hole. Finau picked up a pair of pars on the third and fourth hole. After getting a birdie on the fifth hole, he snatched three straight pars on 6, 7 and 8. The momentum killer hole was on No. 9 with a double-bogey. He made par on 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17. He bogeyed 16 and 18.
Finau is ranked No. 15 in the world entering the PGA Championship finishing fifth place at the Master’s Tournament.
Notable players tied with Finau at three-over are Jason Day, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
Round 3 of the PGA Championship television coverage will begin at 9 a.m. on TNT until 12 p.m. when the coverage shifts to CBS from 12 to 5 p.m.
