BYU Falls To Oklahoma State In First Game Of NCAA Regionals

STILLWATER, Okla. – The BYU softball team dropped its first game of their NCAA Regional Tournament in a 3-1 loss to No. 13-ranked Oklahoma State.
The loss was the first for the Cougars in the four-team, double-elimination tournament. The winning team in the tournament will advance to the NCAA Super Regionals.
The Cowgirls began the game by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first on a RBI single by Madi Montgomery and then on a fielder’s choice to score Samantha Show.

Show later brought in another run on a double in the second inning.
The Cougars’ lone run came in the sixth inning on a single by Libby Sugg to score Rylee Jensen. The BYU offense sputtered against the Cowgirls, as the Cougars managed just three hits in the game.
BYU will look to avoid elimination in the next game against Arkansas on Friday at 1:30 p.m. The game will broadcast on ESPN3.
