Nine Weber State Athletes To Compete At NCAA West Preliminaries

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State track and field team will send nine athletes to the NCAA Preliminaries in Sacramento, California next week.
The Wildcats’ entries include six women and three men. Of the nine qualifiers, five won individual titles at the Big Sky Conference championships last week.
The top-ranked Wildcat at the prelims will be senior discus-thrower Nathan Dunivan. Earlier this year, he set a school record in the event with a throw of 188-10. He took home the conference title in the event last year and won the hammer throw last season. He’ll be the 9-seed in the regionals.

The top-ranked Weber State woman at the prelims will be sophomore Kate Sorensen. After winning the conference title and setting a school record in the 400-meter hurdles, she’ll have the 11-seed at the regionals.
The regional meet will take place May 23-24 at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State University.
