OREM, Utah – Utah Valley head coach Mark Madsen has continued to add to his staff at the UVU men’s basketball program by hiring former Nevada assistant Todd Okeson.
“I am thrilled to welcome Todd Okeson to the UVU staff,” said Madsen, who was hired as the Wolverines’ head coach last month after the team’s former coach, Mark Pope, was hired to be the head coach at BYU. “As a player, Todd was one of the smartest and toughest point guards in the country before his successful pro career in Europe. As a leader, Todd has spent eight years as a staff member at top programs across the western United States. As a person, Todd brings the highest level of integrity and tenacity to everything that he does.”

Okeson was most recently the assistant director of basketball operations for the Wolf Pack, but his coaching experience also includes stops at Hawaii, Southern Utah, and Georgia.
As a player, Okeson was the starting point guard at Nevada and was a vital member of the Wolf Pack’s 2004 Sweet 16 team.
“I cannot thank coach Madsen enough for this amazing opportunity,” said Okeson. “The experience he brings to his position is second to none. I can’t wait to get to work for such a great basketball mind and quality person.”
