SANDY, Utah – According to multiple reports, Real Salt Lake forward Joao Plata will be moved to Liga MX, ending his seven-year tenure with RSL.
Futbolecuador.com reports that Plata’s agent was on Super K 800 radio in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador and pointed out that Plata will almost certainly be moved.
They also mentioned that the agreement for Plata to leave Major League Soccer is 90 percent certain and it is only a matter of time for everything to be announced.
He started his career with Toronto FC in 2011 and spent two seasons with them before joining Real Salt Lake in 2013. Plata scored 45 goals during the regular season with RSL and one goal in the postseason.

Plata has played in five games this season, all off the bench and has not scored a goal or notched an assist. To date, he has appeared in 163 matches in a RSL uniform and started in 135 games.
Injuries have hampered the Ecuadorian striker recently and the emergence of other strikers like Jefferson Savarino, Corey Baird, Sam Johnson, Bofo Saucedo and others have led Plata to come off the bench.
