Rapids Tie Up Real Salt Lake With Corner Kick Goal

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Not long into the second half of the match between Real Salt Lake and the Colorado Rapids, the Rapids scored on a corner kick, wiping out what was a 2-0 lead by RSL.
The Rapids scored their first goal just before the end of the first half to cut the lead in half and then in the 48th minute, they scored again to knot the score up at 2-all.
The second goal came after a corner kick by Colorado got past the first line of RSL defenders on the near post, leaving an open net for Danny Wilson to punch it in. He did so and eliminated RSL’s lead.

The Rapids came into the match looking to pick up their first win of the season. They were winless and at the bottom of the Western Conference table heading into the first leg of the 2019 Rocky Mountain Cup.
RSL was playing without Nick Rimando and Kyle Beckerman, Andrew Putna was given the start in goal.
