COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Just before halftime, the Colorado Rapids cut Real Salt Lake’s lead in half with a goal that came after poor defense by RSL.

After Colorado’s Kei Kamara and Jon Lewis broke through the RSL defense with a series of strong passes, RSL’s Justen Glad got a toe on the ball, leaving it primed for a boot right in the middle of the box.

Kellyn Acosta was trailing the play and moved up to take the opportune shot and buried it to prevent the clean sheet by RSL. At halftime, RSL led 2-1.

Going into the match, known as the Rocky Mountain Cup, Colorado was looking for their first win of the season.

Historically, RSL has dominated the matchup with their closet geographical rival, winning 10 of the last 12 Rocky Mountain Cup titles.

The match between RSL and Colorado can be streamed live on and the KSL TV app.
