Judge, LCA Claim Boys Soccer Titles; 4A Championship Pairing Set

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Champions were crowned and another state championship matchup was set after a busy Friday of prep boys soccer.
Judge Memorial and Layton Christian earned the right to call themselves state champions while Desert Hills and Sky View won their semifinals matchups to set the field for the 4A state title game, which will be played Saturday night.
Judge, LCA Claim Title
Judge clinched its second consecutive 3A state title with a comeback victory over Summit Academy. The Bears took an early 2-0 lead with goals by Jared Arellano and Zack Mooney.
The Bulldogs however, came roaring back with three goals within a seven minute period by Juan Batalla, Jack Terrill and Antony Galindo. They would hold on to win, 3-2.

Layton Christian grabbed the 2A state championship with a 2-0 victory over Rowland Hall. Goals were scored by Rafael Silverio and Marco Francisco. Eagles goalkeeper Matheus Silva earned the shutout in the title game.

Desert Hills To Face Sky View For 4A Title
After defeating Mountain Crest 5-1, Desert Hills punched its ticket to the 4A state championship game thanks to a hat trick by Sawyer Heaton. Garrett Lewis and Will Schroeder also had goals for the Thunder.
In the other semifinals game, Sky View advanced thanks to a 1-0 victory over Mountain View. The Bobcats’ Jake Johnson scored the only goal of the game in the shutout win.

Desert Hills and Sky View will play for the 4A title Saturday at 5 p.m. at Rio Tinto Stadium.
