Bleacher Report released an article that had the trades they would like to see. They also posted a piece about which free agents that the Jazz should target.
Kevin Love
Currently under contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Bleacher Report posted a trade that would send Kevin Love to the Jazz in exchange for a 2019 first and second round draft picks, Derrick Favors and Dante Exum.
“The only thing holding me back from making that trade is how valuable Favors was at the end of the season and the Playoffs,” Allen said. “Kevin Love is a guy who can stretch the floor, can get rebounds, but the problem is how good is his defense,” he added.
Love played in just 22 games and averaged 17 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. For his career, he has posted 18.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in 11 seasons.
“You have to take his health, age and contract situation into consideration,” Wall said. “If you were able to get the Kevin Love of three years ago, I think you would make this deal a no-brainer,” he stated.
Both Wall and Allen agree that this trade wouldn’t happen.
Khris Middleton
Middleton has a player option for next season with the Milwaukee Bucks. Bleacher Report listed him as one of the free agents that the Jazz should go after.
“If they [Utah] can get Khris Middleton, I think that is a good get,” Wall mentioned. “I don’t know how much money they are going to have to pay for him. You would likely lose Derrick Favors in the process though. Middleton is a guy who is good at shooting, he can play the two and three positions and it would take pressure off of Donovan Mitchell,” he said.
The seven-year NBA veteran had a great regular season, averaging 18.3 points, 6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game, while being named to his first NBA All-Star game. In the Playoffs, he is averaging 19.1 points, 6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game as the Bucks are in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Malcolm Brogdon
Brogdon is a restricted free agent with the Milwaukee Bucks after spending three season with the franchise.
“This is a guy that I think the Jazz could possibly get,” Wall said. “He may be primed for the picking if the Jazz want to give him one of those poison contracts,” he added.
The former Rookie of the Year averaged a career-best 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game this season.
“He [Brogdon] is a combo guard like Donovan Mitchell, “said Allen. “He can play off of Donovan or be the primary ball-handler,” he added.
