KEARNS, Utah – The 3A High School Baseball Tournament has four teams in the winners bracket in the quarterfinal round and eight teams left in the consolation bracket.

In the winners bracket, region 14 No. 2-seed Union beat region 15 No. 4-seed South Sevier in the first round with a 4-3 win, while knocking off region 13 No. 1-seed Grantsville 13-1 in the second round. They will face region 15 No. 1-seed Richfield, who beat region 14 No. 5-seed Delta 12-1 in the first round and region 14 No. 3-seed Carbon 13-6 in the second round.

On the other side of the bracket, region 13 No. 3-seed Summit Academy defeated region 15 No. 3-seed Emery 14-0 in the first round and region 14 No. 1-seed Juab 6-1 in the second round. They will take on region 15 No. 2-seed Manti, who knocked off region 14 No. 4-seed Providence Hall 14-7 in the first round and region 15 No. 5-seed San Juan 6-3 in the second round.

Winners Bracket

Region 15 No. 1-seed Richfield 8 vs. Region 14 No. 2-seed Union 0

Connor Belnap put Richfield ahead at the bottom of the first with an RBI single, giving them a 3-0 lead. Morgan Albrecht hit a three-run home-run in the sixth inning, sending the Wildcats into the semifinals.

Richfield will face Summit Academy in the semifinals on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

Josh Stroud and Clay Hughes led a big fourth inning for Summit Academy as they put up four runs.
