ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Dixie State football program continued to add to its future schedule by announcing a two series against Montana and Montana State.
The Trailblazers will travel to face Montana in the 2021, 2026 and 2027 seasons and host the Grizzlies in 2023, according to an announcement by the university. The first meeting of the series in 2021 will be the first encounter ever between the two schools.
Dixie State will face Montana State on the road in 2020, then host the Bobcats for the first time in 2023 before the series returns to Bozeman in 2024.

The two schools have played each other twice before. Montana State blew Dixie State away 61-7 in 2007 and then narrowly won in 2009 by a 23-20 margin.
Dixie State announced its intention to move into Division I and FCS status in January. While the Trailblazers don’t yet have a conference affiliation in place, they have series set against Big Sky teams in SUU, Weber State and Northern Arizona. They also have a deal in place to play at BYU in 2022.
