Paul Millsap Notches Double-Double In Game 4 Win For Nuggets

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Denver Nuggets knocked off the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinal series with a big part of the 116-112 victory coming from former Jazzman Paul Millsap.

Millsap had 21 points and 10 rebounds in 41 minutes of play as the Nuggets tie the series at two games apiece.

The NBA veteran opened the game with 5 points and 3 rebounds before dropping another five points in the second quarter. His best quarter was in the third when he scored 9 points and pulled down 4 rebounds. That’s when the Nuggets pulled away from the Blazers by outscoring them 27-14.

For the playoffs, Millsap is averaging 13.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Millsap was drafted by the Jazz in the 2006 NBA Draft in the second round and stayed with the team until 2013, when he left for the Atlanta Hawks in free agency.

Former Wildcat Has Great Game

Besides Millsap, former Weber State star Damian Lillard had a fantastic game for the Blazers. He finished with 28 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. Lillard started the game strong with 10 points but had an even better performance in the fourth quarter with 15 points as he was spearheading the Blazers comeback.

Former Jazzman Rodney Hood tried to duplicate his 19-point performance in the Blazers quadruple overtime win on Friday, but recorded 7 points and 4 rebounds in 23 minutes.

Game 5 will be on Tuesday in Denver at 8:30 p.m. on TNT.
