Heard Scores On A Corner Kick To Keep Monarchs Alive

HERRIMAN, Utah – With his team trailing 3-1 late in the game, Real Monarchs midfielder Josh Heard converted on a pass off a corner kick to cut the deficit in half in the 84th minute.
Receiving a low, bouncing corner kick entry pass, Heard turned and fired a shot on frame and smoked it past Fresno goalkeeper CJ Cochran for the goal.
It was the first goal of the season for Heard.

The Monarchs had the game tied up 1-1 at halftime thanks to a goal by Maikel Chang in the 17th minute, before Fresno scored two goals within minutes of each other early in the second half.
Coming into the game, the Monarchs sat in seventh place in the USL Western Conference standings.
